The All-Inclusive Eczema Sunscreen You've Been Waiting For

We all know we should be applying sunscreen daily, or at least while we are outdoors - but we also know how overwhelming it is to shop for it. There are hundreds of options, sizes, brands, ingredients, and to be looking for an eczema-safe option? This is a daunting task, until now. Our latest product will ease all sunscreen-stress, and allow you to enjoy the great outdoors while protecting against UV rays and eczema flares.

Mineral Sunscreen vs. Chemical Sunscreen?

First thing’s first, what is the difference between mainstream chemical sunscreen and all natural, mineral sunscreen?

Mineral or “physical” sunscreen contains natural active ingredients, most commonly zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. These active ingredients provide a physical barrier between your skin and the sun, rather than penetrating UV rays from within.

A common hesitation with mineral sunscreens is the white appearance or residue it can leave behind. Keep in mind that this is the natural, physical barrier you have created for protection. The wonderful thing about mineral sunscreen is they do not absorb into your skin or trickle into your bloodstream.

Chemical sunscreen’s active ingredients are not natural, although they do protect your skin in a different way. While mineral sunscreen provides a barrier and is not absorbed into your skin, chemical sunscreen works the opposite. After applying, the skin absorbs the chemicals as well as UV rays, then through a chemical reaction, the body converts it to heat and then releases from your body, thus protecting against sun damage. The chemical absorption involved in this can cause skin irritation and/or eczema flares.

Our Recommendation:

It’s simple, Eczema Honey Gentle Hydrating Sunscreen.

This unscented sunscreen allows you to hydrate and protect at the same time. It is delicate for application, protects your eczema and skin, and leaves you feeling soothed long your day in the sun.

“I have searched far and wide to find a good sunscreen for my 3 y/o eczema. Even the non toxic ones burned and it was always a struggle to rub them in. Insert this sunscreen! Not only is it incredibly easy to apply, but no more burning or tears! I won’t ever go back! It’s also light enough to use on my sensitive acne prone face! Our whole family approves!” - Jessica S., August 2020

Ingredients - Eczema Honey Gentle Hydrating Sunscreen SPF 30

  • 18.9% Zinc Oxide - skin protection
  • Coconut Alkanes - skin emollient, this allows the Zinc Oxide to lock in
  • Glycerin and Aloe Vera Juice - for hydration
  • Shea Butter, Jojoba Seed Extract, Apple Fruit Extract - for the extra silky touch

Leading chemical sunscreen includes many ingredients in addition to the chemically-based active ingredients. The most common of chemically-based active ingredients are avobenzone, homosalate, and octisalate. Check carefully, some sunscreens are a hybrid of both minerals and chemicals

“I usually HATE putting sunscreen on my face. I know it’s super important, but I always hated the way it felt; greasy, streaky, sticky, and sat on my skin and never sunk in. This SPF is the total opposite. It feels so amazing on the skin. It’s a thin, creamy consistency that sinks in so quickly and doesn’t make you sweat like other products. I don’t feel it after it’s applied and it keeps my skin hydrated without feeling heavy. I LOVE it.” Anna, July 2020
